What it covers

The course provides a framework for positioning an organisation along seven guiding questions: direction, leadership, flow, cadence, stability, collaboration and reach. It covers lean thinking as the underlying idea, the difference between utilisation and flow, the three responsibilities of value, flow and architecture, and the changes artificial intelligence brings to software delivery. In the final part, participants determine where their own organisation stands.

In many organisations agile methods have been in place for years without any change to the lead time from request to delivery. In parallel, AI tools are in use whose effect does not show up in the results.

  4. 4 Identify muda, mura and muri in their everyday work.
  5. 5 Name what AI actually changes about software development and explain why prompt training does not address the bottleneck.
  6. 6 Assign the three VFA responsibilities in their own team and recognise unfilled or improperly combined functions.
  7. 7 Determine the weakest sense of their organisation and derive a concrete first step.
